The average income of Russians working on online platforms has seen a significant increase, growing by more than 40% over the past two years. This rise reflects the growing trend of platform-based employment in the country.
Growth in Online Platform Employment
The share of Russians using online platforms such as Avito.Services, Yandex Go, and Profi.ru to find orders and clients has increased to 16%. According to recent data, the average monthly income for individuals who consistently or occasionally work through these platforms has risen from 15,000 rubles to 21,300 rubles.
Income Increases Across Different Employment Types
For those who rely on online platform work as their primary source of income, earnings have surged by 55%. Two years ago, these workers earned an average of 31,500 rubles per month, but now their income has climbed to 48,800 rubles.
Individuals who occasionally create orders through these platforms have also seen a 41% increase in their income, with earnings rising from 9,000 rubles to 14,500 rubles.
However, part-time workers who regularly engage with online platforms have experienced a decrease in their earnings, with their monthly income dropping by 6%, from 19,300 rubles to 18,200 rubles.
Overall Employment Statistics
A total of 3.04 million people, representing 4.1% of all employed individuals in Russia, have generated income by providing services through online platforms.
Popular Platforms and Employment Sectors
The most popular platforms among Russian workers for finding orders and clients are:
- Avito.Services: Almost 50% of respondents with platform employment experience are registered here.
- Taxi and Delivery Services Platforms: Including Yandex Go, Yandex Services, and Profi.ru.
The most common areas of work through these platforms include:
- Tutoring and teaching
- Information technology services
- Passenger and freight transportation services
- Courier delivery
