The Baidu Research Institute has published its top 10 technological trends for 2023.
They believe 2023 will focus on three major directions: continuous consolidation of the technology foundation, more solid AI cross-field integration, and more pragmatic intelligent innovation.
The highlighted trends are a move towards big model ecology for large-scale network intelligence, surges in demand for AI infrastructure, and integration of technologies in the mainstream economy.
Researchers also forecast a further symbiosis of virtual reality and day-to-day lives and autonomous vehicle usage.
The remaining trends include further adoption of robotic workers, an acceleration and adoption of quantum computing, a further shift towards privacy awareness, and a rethink in science and technology ethics – asking if AI technology can promote a “human-computer mutual trust”.
