Full Information from the “Ten-Thousander Registry” Will Remain Private

Officials clarify that full details of large social media accounts will not be publicly available.

The “ten-thousander registry,” a list of social media pages with over 10,000 subscribers, will not be made fully public, according to Anton Gorelkin, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy.

Concerns were raised when the document briefly appeared online, causing public backlash over privacy issues, especially regarding the publication of channel owners’ information.

Gorelkin confirmed that Roskomnadzor, the federal service responsible for media oversight, clarified that the registry will not provide full details of resource owners.

Instead, it will follow a model similar to the ORI registry, which is more restricted in access.

Earlier, on September 6, Roskomnadzor accidentally published a version of the procedure, which was later removed, citing a technical error. The final document is still under preparation.
