Yandex has purchased the gratuity service Чаевые просто (Chayevye Prosto).
It will be integrated into Yandex.Food and other company services, but will continue to develop as a separate project.
Vitaly Tumanov, Director of New Businesses and Products at Yandex.Food was quoting in a Forbes article saying:
Tipping in a restaurant is one of the most frequent scenarios for both users and restaurants, so we see good synergy in the deal.
Yandex acquired 100% of a fintech startup. The amount of the deal was not disclosed. According to analysts interviewed by Forbes, it could be from $ 1 to $ 5 million. The company does not disclose its financial indicators under the terms of an agreement with Yandex.
The founders of the service will remain in the team. They will work on the project together with the Yandex Go food tech team.
According to the latest data, about 5,000 establishments are currently connected to the service.
