Yandex Enhances Neuro Service with Voice Input and Improved Accuracy

Yandex has announced significant updates to its Neuro service, enhancing its ability to answer user queries with greater accuracy and adding new features for convenience and accessibility.

Improved Accuracy and Expanded Sources

The Yandex team has further trained the YandexGPT-3 family model, which powers the Neuro service. This enhancement allows Neuro to prepare answers using a broader array of sources, resulting in a better understanding of user queries and more precise responses.

New Voice Input Feature

In a bid to make the service more user-friendly, Yandex has introduced a voice input feature. Users can now ask questions by clicking the microphone icon in the Neuro search bar and speaking their request. This feature is currently available on ya.ru in Yandex Browser for PC, as well as in the Yandex Browser and Yandex with Alice applications for Android. An iOS version of this feature is expected to launch soon.

Enhanced Accessibility

Yandex has also made Neuro more accessible to users with visual impairments. The service has been adapted for screen readers, which vocalize interface elements, text, and on-screen activities, making it easier for visually impaired users to navigate and utilize the service.

Expansion and Availability

Initially launched in Russia in April 2024, Neuro expanded its reach to Kazakhstan by the end of June. With these updates, Yandex continues to improve the functionality and inclusivity of its services.
