Now, Yandex allows setting up a separate account for a child. A children’s account will be protected from content that is not intended for their age. That will ensure, the children are less likely to come across abusive language, for instance.
The children’s account is available in ‘Search’, ‘Music’, and other Russian search giant’s services. For example, only age-appropriate animated projects and films will appear in Kinopoisk’s searches for children. Yandex Music application will not launch a track with profanity, while ‘Search’ and ‘Browser’ will protect children from shocking content and adult websites, regardless if a child searched for content not intended for their age.
Only parents would be able to create a children’s account, which can be done in their Yandex ID, specifying the child’s name, and age, also creating a login and password. The age limit of the content is regulated by a designated setting: for example, “6+” or “12+” age. A child account can be created in the “Family” section of Yandex ID, in which users add their loved ones.
Optionally, a bank card linked to the family group in Yandex ID can be connected to the child’s account in order to pay for purchases in Yandex services, within the set limits.
