Yandex.Market will launch express delivery of FMCG goods from its warehouses – the so-called ” dark store “. Unlike Yandex.Lavka, the project is aimed at a mass audience.
Mini-premises up to 1 thousand sq. m will appear in cities where there is no Yandex.Lavka. At the start, the assortment will include 2-3 thousand items, in the future, the number may grow several times. Delivery will be carried out in extended areas from 10 minutes.
According to experts, express delivery can become a driver of Yandex’s sales growth in the regions, but the company will have to catch up with key competitors, such as Samokat, which is already operating in the main cities of Russia, and Ozon Express, which enters new regions and doubles its turnover on a quarterly basis.
It is assumed that one of the reasons for the launch of the new service was a severe shortage of couriers in the industry, which has already led to an increase in prices for express delivery in Moscow for many services and regular delays in order fulfillment.
Let us remind you that in September it became known that Yandex.Market will produce products under its own brand “By the way, on the Market”.
