Yandex has enhanced its Documents service by integrating the YandexGPT 4 neural network into its online text editor. This update aims to simplify text-related tasks and improve productivity. Additionally, Yandex has introduced updates to its table editor. Both tools are currently available in beta mode and free for users.
New Features of YandexGPT 4 in the Text Editor
The integration of YandexGPT 4 enables users to create and edit text efficiently in both Russian and English. The neural network offers several features:
- Error correction
- Adjustments to tone, allowing users to make text more formal or casual
- Content reduction for summarizing or condensing text
This makes the text editor versatile for professional and personal use.
Improved Performance
The updated editors are designed to handle large files with ease, even documents as lengthy as 1,000 pages. They also support real-time collaboration for up to 100 users per file, ensuring smooth teamwork on shared projects.
Beta Access
To try the new editors, users can activate the “New editor” option in the top panel of the Documents service’s web interface.
Statement From Yandex
Sergey Pedchenko, Head of the Technological Development Group at Yandex 360, explained the reasoning behind the beta launch:
“We launched the editors in beta so that users could evaluate their performance and try out the new interface. The editors lack a number of features, but we are working to make them available as soon as possible.”
Pedchenko also highlighted future plans, including adding a commenting feature and expanding functionality. The move to Yandex’s in-house developments is expected to boost flexibility, performance, and the speed of updates.
Expanding Neural Network Integration
This update follows Yandex’s earlier integration of YandexGPT 4 into its virtual assistant, Alice, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to embedding AI technologies across its platforms.
